In The Birth of …, Kübra Boy approaches birth not as a singular beginning, but as a continuous relation between the human and nature. The figure is directly connected to nature through an umbilical cord; this connection does not suggest separation, but an ongoing condition of existence.
Working with traditional Turkish tile (çini), the artist reconsiders the medium as a historically constrained field of representation. Within this context, the female figure emerges as a rare and deliberate presence, occupying both the position of the creator and the created.
The figure is not rendered as a passive body, but as an active, generative force. It resists being reduced to an aesthetic object, asserting instead its capacity to produce and sustain its own existence.
The Birth of … does not depict the beginning of life; it articulates a state in which existence is continuously produced and reproduced through an unbroken connection to nature.
